Puppy Info
Bringing home a new puppy is a very important decision an individual or family can make. It is a commitment of many years of caring and personal and financial responsibility.

Our dogs are bred for health, quality, conformation and temperament.  We spend a lot of time with our dogs. Whether their future is conformation, therapy, agility, obedience, companionship or the backyard Frisbee champion, our goal is to find perfect homes where the priority is a family pet and companion.

Pricing - Pricing typically ranges from $1200 - $1600 for Registered Miniature American Shepherds, however, prices are subject to change, but not after a deposit has been placed and agreement completed. The amounts posted are pet only prices, and require the puppy to be spayed or neutered by 12 months of age.  Please realize that purchasing a “Pet” puppy in no way indicates that this puppy is not show or breeding quality. I love placing puppies in forever-spoiled pet homes! However, if you are interested in a puppy to bring into the show ring, a performance dog, or with breeding rights, please contact me.

Deposit/Payment - When you have decided to purchase a puppy from Blue Moon Mini Shepherds, a $300.00 deposit is required to hold him/her. Upon receiving signed contract and deposit, the puppy will be placed "on hold" until payment is complete. If deposits are received prior to the litter being born
you will be placed on a deposit list, and that determines the order of choosing a puppy when they are available, in order of deposit received. If a litter is born, and we do not have the right puppy for you, or you are not ready for a puppy at that time, your deposit will place you in line for the next available litter. If I do not have the right puppy for you, I will refund 75% of your deposit. Deposits are only refunded if we mutually agree that a puppy is not available and it is not feasible to wait for another litter.  Individual arrangements for payment plans can be discussed as long as all money is cleared before the puppy leaves our home. I accept cash, check, money order, Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal (add 4% to amount being sent for incurred PayPal fees). When payment is complete arrangements will be made for pick-up, delivery, or shipping.

Deposit/Waiting List - Blue Moon Shepherds is a small kennel with a few litters a year, but I do maintain a deposit/waiting list. Whether you are ready for a puppy now, or down the road, please contact me if you are interested in being placed on this list.

Size and Color
- I cannot guarantee size or eye color. Eye color can change and size is estimated only. I have no way of knowing for sure if your mini will remain a mini according to the breed standard. As with any breed of dog, some may be smaller, or bigger. But, I have been doing this a long time, and have a pretty good idea of how big your puppy will be at maturity!!

Health Schedule - Puppies will have a health check, tails docked (if needed) and dewclaws removed before they are 3 days old. All our puppies are wormed at 6,  8 and 12  weeks as well as vaccinated with a puppy shot combination at 7, 10, 13 weeks. Your new puppy will be up-to-date for his/her age and health records are provided.

Going Home - Puppies are usually ready to go home at 8-9 weeks of age. Each puppy is sent home with a health and vaccination record, micro chip information, a week's supply of food, as well as a puppy pack. A puppy nanny service is available, please ask for details.

The Life of a Puppy
This morning, I woke up & kissed my dad's head.
I peed on the carpet, then went back to bed.
"The life of a puppy, oh my, this is great."
Then I thought about breakfast," I hope it's not late."
Mom took me outside, we walked for a while.
This never fails to make Mama smile.
I sniffed of everything, that we did pass,
I ate something weird - it gave me gas.

I'm sure God loves me, I know that is true.
He gave me so many great things to chew.
Rugs, plants or rocks, I really don't care.
What I truly like best, is Dad's underwear.

That obedience book, was sort of yummy.
Though it didn't sit well on my poor puppy tummy.
I threw up a bit, but that was all right,
When Mom found it later, I was well out of sight.

I made streamers of T. P., while running at full speed.
Mom is pretty quick -- but I was still in the lead.
I flew under the bed, and Mom flew past,
She stopped-shook her head, and breathed,
"You're too fast."

Mama later phoned Daddy, and said, "It was frightening!"
That afternoon, she was sure I'd pooped lightning.
She'd sat at the computer, while I chewed the cord,
She thought I was mad, but I was just bored.

When Mama had enough, couldn't take anymore,
That's when my tushy got shoved out the door.
I love it inside, but outside is best.
Lay in the cool grass, and had a good rest.

That didn't last long, there was too much to do--
Can't quite remember where I hid Daddy's shoe.
I found an old bone, and scratched at a flea,
I watched the dumb squirrels as they jumped in a tree.

I barked at the kids, when they got off the bus.
I can't figure out why this makes Mama fuss.
I barked at the neighbor, I barked at the wind.
I barked and barked, till Mom yelled, "COME IN."

The sun dipped in the west-soon Daddy would come!
I sure love my daddy: we always have fun.
I barked at my daddy, then turned on my charms,
I woo-wooed, "Hello," then jumped in his arms.

Sitting under the table -- it's sooo hard to wait.
Daddy slipped me a goodie right off his plate.
I raced through the house, and scattered my toys,
Ricocheted off the furniture, and made lots of noise.

Mom found her purse - the one I abused.
Daddy let loose a chuckle. Mom asked "Amused??"
I cowered down low, I must be in trouble.
Dad said, "Wasn't MY boy, it must be his double!"

Mom turned off the TV, and said, "Time for bed."
Dad said "Let's go, boy," and patted my head.
I got in my spot, between Mom and Dad,
I thought 'bout my day and what fun I had.

Mama kicked out my bone from the covers below,
Then let loose a sigh -- a sigh deep and low.
She gave me a kiss, and snuggled me tight,
And whispered so softly, 'My darling goodnight'.
